Co-operations

The supermarkets have been supporting us since 2007 Edeka-Hetzenegger and Rewe coll. They donate the proceeds from the sale of GEPA products (products from socially and environmentally responsible trade) to the Rhine-Berg One World Foundation.

Joint actions

In the summer of 2009, the One World Foundation Rhein-Berg and REWE-Markt Koll invited people to Bechen.

Under the motto „Helping people to help themselves with coffee and cake“, GEPA coffee from Dröppelminas was served free of charge and cakes and rolls were sold.

The proceeds from this day and the total proceeds from the sale of GEPA products, around 1,500 euros, were handed over to the foundation during the event.

In December 2008, a St Nicholas campaign was organised together with REWE-Koll.

The children received presents from St Nicholas and the parents were treated to mulled wine and waffles by the foundation's board and informed about the foundation's work and aims.

„The partnerships with the supermarkets in the region are very important to us and we hope to add a few more,“ says Rainer Henze, Chairman of the Management Board.

In May 2008, the patron of the foundation Rolf Menzel, the supermarket owners Markus Hetzenegger and Thomas Koll and the foundation's board of directors organised a press conference at the Edeka Hetzenegger supermarket.

There, the interested public had the opportunity to learn more about the foundation, the cooperation, the patronage of District Administrator Menzel and the current „Fundamujer“ project in Guatemala. For the two supermarket owners, the „inner attitude“ and transparency of the foundation are the main reasons for their financial support. As no public funds flow into the foundation's coffers, they try to acquire donations through such co-operations, for example.
