The One World Foundation Rhein-Berg (EWS) supports charitable projects within the scope of international development aid. For this reason, the Bergisch Gladbach Tax Office has exempted the EWS from corporate tax and trade tax by means of a certificate of exemption and the annex to the corporate tax assessment. The foundation is authorised to issue confirmations of monetary donations (donation receipts) to donors, which can then be claimed against tax liabilities at the respective tax offices.
The foundation distinguishes between three types of monetary contributions (donations). If the donor expresses no preference regarding the use of their donation, the foundation decides in which of the three listed categories the money will be allocated.
Project-related donations
The donations are allocated directly to a project. This means the donor determines which project they are supporting with their money.
The donation flows into the assets of EWS
The donation covers general administrative costs.
Despite all cost-saving measures, administering the EWS incurs expenses: for official documentation (foundation supervisory authority, tax office, transparency register, etc.), for promotional materials and public relations (website), for the organisation of fundraising events, and last but not least, for the administration of the foundation itself. Although these costs are largely financed by the members of the board of trustees and the executive board, donations are also used in part – provided the donor authorises them for this purpose.
The foundation owes its existence to the many donors who have remained loyal to EWS over many years with single payments or standing orders. Without them, the foundation would not be able to fulfil its tasks! At this point, the Board of Trustees and the Executive Board of EWS would like to express their sincere thanks to all donors for their contributions! We would also like to extend our thanks to the many artists who have contributed to the continued existence of the foundation and the fulfilment of its purposes with benefit events over the years!
